These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between Velorent Private Limited, having its registered office at Sangani Vrajbhoomi, B-110, near Ayodhya Apartment, Vatva, Ahmedabad, Gujarat - 382445 ("Velorent", "We", "Us"), and the individual accessing the Platform as a customer or guest ("You", "Guest").
- By registering an account, making a booking, or using the Platform in any manner, You agree to be bound by these Terms.
- If You do not agree to these Terms, You must not use the Platform.
Velorent operates as a technology marketplace enabling peer-to-peer vehicle sharing.
- Velorent does not own, lease, or operate the vehicles listed on the Platform.
- Vehicles are owned and made available by independent Hosts.
- Velorent is not a transport provider, insurer, or party to the vehicle sharing agreement.
- All vehicle sharing transactions occur directly between the Guest and the Host.
- Velorent provides digital infrastructure, payment facilitation, and support services only.
To book a vehicle on Velorent, You must:
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Hold a valid driving licence issued by a competent Indian authority.
- Possess valid government-issued identification.
- Have full legal capacity to contract under applicable law.
- Successfully complete KYC and verification checks as required by Velorent.
- Velorent reserves the right to reject or suspend any account at its sole discretion.
Guests must:
- Create only one account per individual.
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
- Maintain the confidentiality of login credentials.
- Notify Velorent immediately of any unauthorized access to the account.
- All activity conducted under Your account is deemed authorized by You.
- Velorent may suspend or terminate accounts containing inaccurate or fraudulent information.
When making a booking, You agree that:
- All bookings are subject to vehicle availability and Host approval.
- Booking confirmation is issued only upon successful payment.
- The total booking amount includes the vehicle rental fee, applicable taxes, and any platform charges disclosed at checkout.
- Payments must be made through Velorent's approved payment methods only.
- Velorent does not store card information; payment processing is handled by RBI-compliant, PCI-DSS certified partners.
- Prices displayed are inclusive of GST unless stated otherwise.
- Velorent reserves the right to modify pricing at any time; confirmed bookings are not affected.
Cancellations are subject to the following:
- Cancellations made more than 24 hours before the scheduled pickup time: full refund.
- Cancellations made between 12–24 hours before scheduled pickup: 50% refund.
- Cancellations made less than 12 hours before scheduled pickup: no refund.
- No-shows without cancellation will be treated as a full forfeiture of the booking amount.
- Refunds, where applicable, will be processed to the original payment method within 5–7 business days.
- Velorent reserves the right to modify this policy with prior notice.
By accepting a vehicle, You agree to:
- Use the vehicle only for lawful personal purposes.
- Not allow any unlicensed or unauthorised person to drive the vehicle.
- Not use the vehicle for commercial hire, racing, or off-road driving unless explicitly permitted.
- Not transport hazardous, illegal, or prohibited materials.
- Not smoke inside the vehicle.
- Return the vehicle in the same condition as received, including interior cleanliness.
- Not tamper with any GPS or telematics device installed in the vehicle.
- Adhere to all applicable traffic laws and regulations.
- Report any accident, theft, or damage to Velorent and the Host immediately.
- Vehicles must be returned with the same fuel level as at the time of pickup.
- If the vehicle is returned with less fuel, the cost of refuelling will be deducted from the security deposit or charged separately.
- Guests are responsible for using the correct fuel type as indicated by the Host or on the vehicle.
- A refundable security deposit may be collected at the time of booking or vehicle pickup.
- The deposit will be refunded within 3–5 business days after successful vehicle return, subject to inspection.
- Deductions may be made for damages, missing items, excessive cleaning requirements, excess fuel consumption, or traffic violations incurred during the booking.
- Velorent will provide an itemised breakdown of any deductions.
You are responsible for:
- All damage to the vehicle occurring during Your booking period, whether caused by You or a third party.
- Damage due to misuse, negligence, or violation of these Terms voids any damage protection coverage.
- Velorent may facilitate damage assessment through third-party partners.
- Guests must cooperate fully with any damage inspection process.
- Major damage, theft, or total loss may result in claims exceeding the security deposit; You will be liable for the difference.
- Filing a false damage report or concealing damage is grounds for account termination and legal action.
- The Host is responsible for maintaining valid comprehensive insurance on the listed vehicle.
- Velorent does not provide insurance to Guests.
- In the event of an accident, Guests must cooperate with the Host's insurance process.
- Velorent may, at its discretion, offer optional damage protection plans for Guests; terms of such plans will be disclosed separately.
- Guests acknowledge that Velorent makes no guarantee regarding insurance coverage outcomes.
Guests must not:
- Provide false information during registration or booking.
- Misuse, abuse, or harass Hosts or Velorent support staff.
- Attempt to circumvent the Platform to transact directly with Hosts.
- Create multiple accounts to exploit promotions or bypass suspensions.
- Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose.
- Interfere with the technical systems of the Platform.
- Violation of these obligations may result in immediate account suspension, forfeiture of amounts paid, and legal proceedings.
- After each trip, You may be invited to rate the vehicle and Host.
- Ratings and reviews must be honest and accurate.
- False, defamatory, or misleading reviews may be removed and may result in account action.
- Hosts may also rate Guests; these ratings may affect future booking eligibility.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Velorent, its officers, employees, and affiliates from any claims, losses, or liabilities arising from:
- Your use of the Platform or the vehicle.
- Breach of these Terms.
- Any accident, damage, or injury caused during Your booking period.
- Regulatory violations committed by You.
- False declarations or misrepresentation.
- This indemnity survives the termination of these Terms.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Velorent shall not be liable for:
- Vehicle condition, roadworthiness, or mechanical failure.
- Acts or omissions of Hosts.
- Loss of personal belongings left in the vehicle.
- Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
- Platform downtime or technical errors.
- Maximum aggregate liability of Velorent shall not exceed the amount paid by You for the specific booking in question.
- For any complaints or disputes, contact Velorent support at support@velorent.in.
- Velorent will acknowledge grievances within 48 hours and resolve within 7 business days where possible.
- Escalated disputes may be referred to arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996.
- Arbitration will be conducted by a sole arbitrator appointed by Velorent, in English.
- These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in Ahmedabad, Gujarat shall have jurisdiction.
- Velorent reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time.
- Material changes will be communicated via in-app notification or email.
- Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
- It is Your responsibility to review these Terms periodically.
- These Terms constitute the entire agreement between You and Velorent with respect to your use as a Guest.
- If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
- Failure to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver.
- You may not assign Your rights under these Terms without written consent from Velorent.
- Force majeure events (natural disasters, government actions, etc.) suspend obligations for the duration of such events.
